Ayahuasca Ceremony



The Ayahuasca ceremony in american church is usually held at night and lasts until the Ayahuasca effect wears off. After the room is prepared and blessed by the shaman who presides over the ceremony, participants are treated to Ayahuasca, sometimes divided into several doses. After consuming ayahuasca, most people start to feel the effects within 20-60 minutes. The effects are dose-dependent and the course can take 2-6 hours.

Those who take Ayahuasca may experience symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, feelings of euphoria, strong visual and auditory hallucinations, mind-altering psychedelic effects, fear, and paranoia. It should be noted that some side effects, such as vomiting and diarrhea, are considered a normal part of the cleansing experience.

People react to Ayahuasca differently. Some experience euphoria and a sense of enlightenment, while others experience intense anxiety and panic. It is not uncommon for those who consume Ayahuasca to experience both positive and negative effects from stews. A shaman and others experienced in Ayahuasca offer spiritual guidance to participants during the Ayahuasca experience and supervise participants for safety. Some recall also have emergency medical staff available. These ceremonies are sometimes held in succession, and participants consume Ayahuasca for several nights in a row.

DMT activates the sigma-1 receptor (Sig-1R), a protein that inhibits neurodegeneration and regulates the production of antioxidant compounds that help protect brain cells. Test tube testing shows that DMT protects human brain cells from damage caused by oxygen deprivation and increases cell survival.
