TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

I was telling everybody at work that we were going to see the LA Lakers.  Tara told her job, too.  It was going to happen.  Tara had taken some time off work, and so had I.  It was perfect.  Kobe was one of my favorite players, and since Gasol has come on, it's magic.  They play together like they have been playing all their lives.  And it's only been a few months.  I couldn't believe it.  Tara had gotten a great hotel, and some good flights, so we were set.  I got a car rental at a pretty good rate.  We called our friends with the tickets and gave him all the travel arrangements, and he said he and Mona would meet us at the airport.  I told him that was necessary, as I had rented a car.  He told me I didn't have to, that he would be happy to drive us around, but I wouldn't hear of it.  I wanted a little independence.  This was the first trip I had taken in at least 3 years.  Three years is a long time.  When I was leaving the drug store I ran into Jim.  Jim was picking up some test strips.  We are in the same diabetes support group.
