CTA TRIP
If you look at a map of the CTA, it’s sort of like a Loop Chicago neighborhood directory. The I-94 even runs alongside the blue line train. I used to take that train every day to go to college and when I bought a car I used to take the I-94 every day instead. I know all the stops by heart. That’s why I can never get lost in Chicago. If I can find of the CTA stops or the street it’s on, I can always figure out where I am. Or, rather, I know enough that I can figure out where I’m going. That’s why both my parents confuse me. They can never find out where they’re going. My father usually has a decent enough idea, but never ask that man for directions. He’ll give you 6 or 7 different ways to get there and they’ll sound both alike and very different from each other due to their stuttering. My mother simply doesn’t know left from right. I’m serious. One day, I had a job interview out in Lombard and missed it because she told me to go left instead of right and I went off in the wrong direction. To this day, she still insists that it was my fault.
