COMMUNITY COLLEGE CLASS

I’m taking a class at the community college on the basics of electrical wiring.  When I got the list of required and suggested materials for participation I was pretty shocked by how many different tools there were on it, especially cutting tools.  On the list were: wire cutters, electricians scissors, electricians knife, drywall saw, utility knife – I’ve had electricians come and do work on my house and I don’t ever recall one carrying in a toolbox that was big enough to hold all of that stuff, I had no idea that you would need so many things just to do some basic wiring.  I went online and visited Klein Tools’ website, they are a manufacturer that produces tools specifically for the electrical trade, and I was astonished even further.  There was page after page after page of tools, I suddenly found that I was no longer wondering why electricians salaries were higher than some other trades people – if they need all of these tools to perform their job, they’d go broke having to buy them if they didn’t make a decent buck.  Thankfully the tools that I needed for my class were among the cheaper items for sale on the website, my total bill came in at under a hundred dollars – some of the tools I saw on their were several hundred dollars each!
